Lauren is the Editor in Chief of JAEL and loves writing, animals, and the outdoors. A life-long Louisville resident, she studied cultural anthropology as an undergraduate at the University of Louisville before beginning her journey as a law student at Brandeis. When not studying or working, Lauren volunteers with the Kentucky Humane Society and spends time with her two rescue dogs, Greyworm & Lynyrd.
Julie is a Louisville native. She attended undergrad at Bellarmine University where she studied Political Science, Philosophy, and Psychology. As a proud mother of two pit-mixes (Cooper and Cali), Julie is passionate about breed restrictions, and animal abuse. After law school Julie plans to practice and remain involved with the Bellarmine Pre-Law Program by teaching and advising. In her free time, Julie volunteers as a member of the Bellarmine Alumni Board of Directors and spends time on the golf course with her fiance.
Jesse is a graduate of Morehead State University. Originally from Emmalena, a small town in Eastern Kentucky, he is now a resident of Louisville where he plans to practice in civil litigation following graduation at Brandeis. Jesse is an advocate for increased animal protection and owners’ rights legislation in Kentucky. Also, he enjoys playing music and jogging across Louisville’s waterfront in his free time.
