Katie Bonds, Editor-in-Chief
Katie Bonds is a 3L and proudly serves as the President of the Student Bar Association (SBA) as well as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law (JAEL). Katie is originally from Beckley, West Virginia and graduated Cum Laude from Concord University with a BA in English Literature and minor in Sociology. Prior to attending Brandeis, Katie worked as a sales specialist in the pharmaceutical industry and as both a jewelry consultant and manager in retail sales. Since entering law school, she has worked as a research assistant for Professor Ariana Levinson, focusing primarily on projects in labor law. Additionally, Katie has worked at law firms such as Jones Ward and Clay, Daniel, Walton, & Adams as a law clerk. Immediately following completion of her second year in law school, Katie began working at LG&E-KU as an in-house counsel law clerk and will do so for the remainder of her 3L year. In addition to receiving the CALI award for achieving the highest grade in her legal writing course at the end of her 1L year, Katie was recently notified that she will be published in the upcoming edition of the Journal of Animal and Environmental Law. Along with working and staying actively involved with the SBA and JAEL, she spent her 2L year as an Admissions Coordinator and Brandeis' Head Student Representative for BARBRI. Though she keeps busy, Katie always carves out time to catch up on a great book, play volleyball, and spend time with her family and friends.
