Lee Lenkoff

Lee was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She attended the University of Louisville where she majored in Equine Administration and a minored in Entrepreneurship. She first joined JAEL because of her interest in equine law. Her note last year focused on the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA). It will be published in Spring 2024. Lee plans to work in corporate/business law, and hopes to combine equine law within that. Outside of law school, Lee loves to ride and compete with her horse Jay and hang out with her friends and family.

Halley is originally from western KY. She graduated from Murray State University with a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation & Biology. Her interest in animal law started during her undergraduate studies, but deepened after adopting her three-legged rescue dog, Maxwell. Halley plans to return to eestern Kentucky after graduation to pursue a career in criminal defense. In her free time, Halley enjoys thrifting and spending time with friends.

Caroline is originally from Louisville, KY. She graduated from the University of South Carolina where she double majored in Political Science and History. Caroline enjoys being a part of JAEL because the Journal specifically focuses on our community. She hopes to begin her legal career in a new, big city! Outside of law school, Caroline loves to go to concerts, travel, and visit friends.

Colin was born and raised in Louisville, KY, and is a proud Louisvillian. After completing his undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University, where he earned a degree in History, he moved around the country until eventually deciding to go back to school to pursue a career in law. His journey led him to JAEL after participating in the Resilience Justice Fellowship following his 1L year. This experience saw him collaborating with local partners, dedicated to championing equitable environmental policies in marginalized communities. He has set his sights on staying in Louisville and using his law degree to serve as a valuable resource for the community. Beyond his legal aspirations, he enjoys the parks of Louisville through hiking and mountain biking
